Help Support Abused Horses Seized from a Residence Located in Arvada, Colorado
(NOTE: The drawings below have been scanned, so the quality isn't as good as the original artwork. Please visit TMAC to view the originals.)
Jefferson County Animal Control seized 16 horses, including mustangs, and one donkey from a property in Arvada, Colorado. The animals suffered various degrees of neglect, and fortunately they have recovered well, so they are ready for adoption. (To view bios of the horses, please visit http://co.jefferson.co.us/sheriff/sheriff_T62_R270.htm.)
In an effort to help expedite the adoption of the horses, a Golden, Colorado photographer, Pam Nickoles, took photographs of the horses (view the pictures at http://co.jefferson.co.us/sheriff/sheriff_T62_R270.htm).
At about the same time, we contacted Pam about the possibility of drawing some of her photographs of wild mustangs as a way for Adrianne to earn volunteer credit by drawing and donating the artwork to nonprofits in support of saving the wild mustangs.
Pam suggested the TMAC project and has donated the photographs of the abused horses so Adrianne can draw them for resale. All monies raised from the sale of the portraits will be donated to TMAC to help offset the costs of bringing the horses back to health.
As the 16 portraits are completed, they will be posted on this Web site and the TMAC Web site. The portraits have a suggested retail price of $125.00. To purchase the artwork, please contact TMAC directly (http://www.tablemountainanimals.org/). The original artwork will be displayed in the reception area at TMAC in Golden, Colorado.
